Christmas in Macklin

Waiting with Auntie at the dealership for our car!  She was going to come help change the tire, or provide a better jack - but we got it done first (and by we - I mean Trevor!), so she came to the dealership!

So yesterday was our trip to Saskatchewan to celebrate Christmas with Trevor's family.  The plan was to drive the three hours there and the three hours home in the same day.  We were all packed and ready to go!  We were on the road.  Full tank of gas and coffees in hand!  Then...
Clunk Clunk Clunk.

Yup, flat freaking tire!  Are you serious!?  So, we called roadside assistance!  FOUR HOUR WAIT!  I tried using the 'we have a baby with us' but it did us  no good.  Trevor went on out and changed our tire to the dummy tire and we drove ourselves to the dealership.  While changing the tire, not only did one person NOT pull over to help - but not one person pulled into the right lane to give him any space.  I was so scared the whole time.  Stupid people.  (Yes, this even includes the one police officer as well!)

Well, once at the dealership, Trevor went in and they quoted him an hour wait to get the car in.  UGH!  Then I came in with Jackson, who batted his eyes and smiled up a storm and the wait became 5 minutes!  Baby card worked - YES!  Once in, we still had to wait a while, but we were on the road by 12:30.  Needless to say it was A LONG day, but we made it!  Jackson was a trooper until he got too tired at his bedtime at the very end!  Then he slept the whole way home and through the night (again for the third night - knock on wood!).

Courtney, Stu, Keri, and Darin
Where to start!
Getting presents sorted out!  I can't believe how grown up Ava got!
Slumbering Rory.
It doesn't look like it, but Jackson was really tired and started to get cranky during presents - which is sad!  But, it was his bedtime and this bug is like a clock!
Jackson and his frog!  He needed to have this toy out of the box and with him!
We got Rory a toy that was a BIG hit with Jackson.  We are hoping she loves it just as much as he loves his!
The mittens and CUTE tuque we got Rory!  Love it!
The three little monsters!  If Jackson wasn't playing with Ava's pretty headband or hair, he was feeling Rory's soft sleeper!  I can't believe how much bigger he is than Rory!  Rory is about four months old and he's almost seven.  Still - 22 lbs compared to 12!

All in all, we made it.  It was a success.  And we made it home safe (after some bad road conditions in the beginning).  'Tis the season!
