Friday Festivities!

So Jackson has started off really enjoying Preschool!   We are coming up on one month in already - WOW!  I will be honest, I am a little concerned when October rolls around and he realizes that not every day of preschool will be about learning about TRACTORS!.  You see, September's topic is all about Farming!  Jackson has come home with colored combines, etc.  I don't think he has quite realized that October will bring a new topic!  I'm sure the friends at Preschool have won him over enough that he probably won't mind too much!  He's such a social little boy.  The other day we were walking to the car after I picked him up...he stopped...put his head up a little bit and hollered 'GOODBYE ALL MY FRIENDS!' - sheesh!  Anyways, I disgress.  This post is really about Friday, which was dress up as a cowboy or farmer day!  I caught him checking his duds out in the mirror and it cracked me up!

MOOSEISMS

'Dada - I think babies are born in dreams'

'I think we should buy some more babies.  Lots of them.  Maybe around Sawyer's age!'

It's too early to discuss this whole baby thing with him, right?!  Gosh - he has babies on his mind.  We've tried to explain babies on a minimal level.  He insists he wants a baby sister as he already has a baby brother.  IF/WHEN we happen to decide on another baby, we really can't choose, so we try to even out the gender playing field!  I'm certainly hoping his baby fever wears off soon!  I think maybe I need to stop doing newborn shoots!  Those darn cute babes apparently can make anyone want one - even a 3 year old boy!  His buddy Blake is about to have a baby sister and his buddy Carter at Preschool too...I'm sure we'll hear about it when those two bundles make their arrival!

Speaking of Blake's baby sister...we were doing Vanessa's maternity photos out at the ravine on Thursday evening.  Vanessa wanted some fabric draped over the body photos...we kept the boys busy long enough to properly drape and cover her body.  After we took the photos,  I held up the white fabric for Vanessa to dress again.  The sun just happened to be shining.  Jackson peeked up from his ipad movie and yells...

'Hey, you guys are making shadow puppets over there!  That's pretty cool, huh?!'

That is innocence at its finest.  Goodness that boy is just too much of a good thing sometimes!

One last one is that Jackson has picked up a saying, I'm assuming from Preschool...he uses it when one would typically say 'ah, crap' or something of the sort.  His new saying is...

'Oh, chickenpox!'

September 12

Four years ago on September 12 we were saying 'I Do' and sealing the deal with a kiss.

Four years later, we're running around with our little munchkins and have never looked back!  We really are blessed to have such wonderful boys in our lives.  Parenthood is the ultimate job.  The biggest gift.  Something truly life changing.

There's no one I'd rather do it with!  Happy belated anniversary Trev!

Bike Ride with Buddy Blake

These photos are from almost two weeks ago!  Hence the shorts and the lack of road rash on Sawyer's face!  Oh how things can change in two weeks.  I really need to sit down over the next week and make an effort to update here.  I literally have had 30 photo shoots in the past 6 days and I'm exhausted.  Both physically and mentally!  I will play catch up on the work front and then dedicate some time to my beloved blog!  Thanks for your patience!  Will see you all soon :)

Sawyer wants so badly to be like the big boys.  It's probably been my biggest surprise in this whole 'two child' situation.  The fact that Sawyer has just skipped so many stages (toys, etc) just because he wants to be playing with Jackson.  It's kind of sad, and kind of endearing at the same time!  He really has a 'wait for me, wait for me' mentality lately.  Two nights ago I got Jackson ready to go to the Oilers game with me, and Sawyer was right in there wanting his hair done and then he ran and got his shoes and brought them to me.  GULP.  Poor little buddy is underestimated lately and Jackson has gotten to do some pretty cool things.  Date with Nana and Papa, Preschool, Oilers Game.  Poor Sawyer just doesn't get it.  He's at that age where he has SO MUCH to say and feels SO MUCH emotion but doesn't have the vocabulary to put it all together yet; which leads to some moments of frustration, to say the very least.  He is my short fused boy, but when I step back and look at things...it's all in frustration.  He watch every move Jackson makes and thinks he should be able to do it all too...soon Buddy, soon.  Trevor took him on a special walk while Moose and I went to the game.  You could tell by the photos Trev sent me that he was just ecstatic that he got to go do something too!  By himself!  Note to self...try to set up special Sawyer dates!

August 28 Swim Time

Both of the boys are little water babies.  They just love water; puddles, taps, swimming, baths...they aren't picky!  Trevor turned the temperature down in the hot tub while he was home and we all went in for some family time.  Well, that's a little misleading...the boys went in, I came out to take some pictures because I don't like going in after I've already showered, and when I almost fell in to get 'the shot' - Trev made me break my shower/hot tub rule and get in the dang tub!

These boys of mine are pretty great!  Smiles, splashes, silliness and all!

Preschool

Jackson had his first day of Preschool today.  Are all of you also shaking your heads wondering where the time went?!  We sure are.  It was bitter sweet.  I am very excited for him, but I will most definitely miss my little buddy.  I held it together!  The hardest part was when we Facetimed with my parents and he was all proud and looked so big and literally was so excited he had one foot out the door!  He will ROCK Preschool, I have no doubt!

Can you see the excitement on his face on the way there?!

We arrived!

 Found our hook...

And our name tag - and we were READY!!!

Jackson, we are so very proud of you and the little (ah hem, Big) boy you are becoming.  You are gentle, kind, sweet, thoughtful, funny, and as cute as can be.  Today while I watched you in your Preschool classroom, I saw you ask a very shy girl if she'd like to play blocks with you.  She did.  It was the first time she talked to anyone since going into the classroom - and your sweet nature made it happen.  Her mom was so happy and relieved. I was so proud to see how nice you were to all your soon to be friends and how happy you were.  Although we will miss you - we cannot wait to hear about all your adventures and friendships!

Love You Moose!

First Day of Preschool!

More to come, but I will start with this!
