Father's Day

Sunday was Father's Day so we had a bbq that night for the family. All were present...mom and dad, lee and lesley, and grandma and grandpa. It was a GREAT meal and great company. I worked out my new lense again to get nice and close to those sneakers who usually avoid the camera...Ms. Mom successfully kept out of the line of fire as she is usually successful at doing...grrr. BUT, I did get Lee, which is about as rare as seeing Big Foot!!!

Grandpa - not so impressed that a camera is out. I wonder where mom gets it?!

Dad's reaction to figuring out he got golf lessons for Father's Day
He he he - FORE...

Apparently on Father's Day, you can wear any hairstyle you want!!!
Is it really true!? Not only a picture without the finger, but a smile too?!?!

Giving in to peer pressure!!!

Usually Grandma isn't too shy for the camera, she was easy to rope into smiling!!

Fun Fun

Trevor and I treated ourselves to a new lense for the camera...with a little reservation...but no looking back!! I LOVE it. It is so fun! I can get super close without people knowing I'm 'stalking' them! It was our wedding gift to each other as we wanted it for our honeymoon. HONEYMOON!! Can you believe that?! In about 80 days, we'll be married an in Jamaica! Woo Hoo! Below are my two favorite 'people'!! I love them both so much...and together, they are even cuter!

Why is he so darn photogenic?! It's totally not fair!

Kia doesn't know I'm creeping her, so I get some cute pics...I just loved this one!

BIG KISS!!! Lots of love!

Quick Post

We finally got out to take a walk on the weekend while Trevor's parents were here. Steve (finally!) got his new camera and wanted to test it out, but I wasn't going to leave mine behind! The sun was bright and the wind was strong, which were both newer conditions for me. There were lots of 'dust' storms (which didn't bother Kia any!). The bottom few pictures were some of my favs.

I know, my same old trees...I just like that spot!

Kia having fun in the wind storm! Love the coloring!

I call this one fields of gold!! It should be 'weeds' of gold, but nonetheless, I loved the coloring with the sun!

Furniture Wait...

The cutest little end table to go in between our two chairs!!! So cute it is!

FINALLY, a coffee table for the living room!!! I've had my eye on this one for months!

A nice dinette that will actually fit our guests!!! Yeah!

Only the bottom half of the buffet for the dining area alcove!!

Our lovely bench for the entry way!!!
Three barstools for our stellar island!!

We have ordered our new furniture through Direct Buy and saved a bundle (thanks Lee and Lesley!). We are now very anxiously awaiting it's arrival! I can't wait...it is soooo going to complete the main level!!!! So very very very exciting!
Thought that would help others visualize our home coming together :)

Tuesday Blues

Today is a tough day. I can barely keep my eyes open...the office is hot - yet I know I will be going home to an even hotter house! Boo! I have such a sore neck and upper back - it has given me such a headache. I am unsure how to get it all to go away. I think stress may be playing a very large role in this!
I opened my planner this morning and it is loaded. I work Saturday and it is on Nicole and I to plan the two agency bbqs for next week. When we volunteered it seemed so far away, but now it's just around the corner. Work is actually fairly busy given the few programs that are left running. I'm not going to lie, I am soooo glad that Saturday's Collective Kitchen is the last one for a few months...the break is well needed!
It sounds like Trev's parents are making the drive to E-town Friday. I don't envy them - it is one long drive. I received a text from Trevor last night at about 11:00 pm that they were wanting to come in to do some shopping. It is a busy weekend, and I am feeling guilty that I will be working for the better part of their stay. C'est la vie I guess.
I am really just logging on to blow off some steam because I'm really grumpy and feeling overwhelmed.
My mom is far too cute. She had to call today to see what color the cake topped should be powder coated to. I said black. She said what black. I said black black. She said there are SIXTY freaking blacks...soft black, hard black, glossy black, matte black, pearl black - - - AHHHH!!! I just want black. All these little decision. I honestly am soooo looking forward to that sunny beach where we can unwind after everything is all said and done! I can't believe we are 80-some days away. Time truly does fly when you are having fun.
xoxo
**I can't wait for you to come home Trevor. Wish there was more 'us' time this week off, but we will make it work. Don't work too hard (or eat too much delicious banana bread without bringing some home!!!). Talk soon.**

Weekend Close

Hey all. What a busy weekend! Very successful though! The hair and makeup consult today was a lot of fun. Pamela Parker is very energetic, and very good at what she does! I'd love to share some of the pics, but it's a surprise!

I met up with Alina at the dog park tonight. It was the perfect way to end the weekend. Beautiful weather, and good company. We timed it just right and were back safe and sound in the parking lot just before the sun started to set. She has a dog named Teegan, who is a tiny ball of energy. So cute...Kia and her had great fun.

Busy Weekend

Wow, it's Sunday morning and it has been a CRAZY weekend! I haven't been feeling all that great, especially today. The heat doesn't help! I miss my airconditioned home - as does Kia I'm sure! C'est la vie!
Yesterday was a HUGE day. Keri came into town and we all rocked out our shopping. It went far smoother than I had expected and we were successful on a number of levels! In fact, I would have to say we were MORE than successful! We were able to get the bridesmaid shoes (all ladies agreed!) and surprisingly found the perfect flower girl dresses! They are beyond adorable. I was lucky enough to see Ms. Ava in hers. She's pretty shy still in front of me - but Keri said she's pretty happy with it! Those two girls are going to be total show stealers, I just know it! I can't wait to see them both that day! I am very happy that Keri got a chance to come into town to meet the girls and see everything coming along. It's nice having her here and she got to sneak a peak at the house - which was soooo nice to finally show her. Thanks Keri and have a safe drive home :)
We also got all the girls to the seamstress. I am shocked at how amazing the dresses look. Seeing all the girls together in their shoes and dresses and having the flower girl dresses and tuxes picked - I am really starting to get a visual of the day! I think it is going to be beautiful!
Trevor is out of town working nights...always frustrating. We never really get to talk until he switches to days - so basically for the first 3 to 4 days up there we live on good morning and good night text messages. It sucks. I miss him.
On a brighter note, I am sitting here waiting for my mom to speed her late butt over here so we can go to Southgate for a bit to look for an outfit for her before my hair and makeup consultation! I was up at about 6 am this morning with butterflies, and I am pretty sure it is due to this appointment. I am excited and nervous. I hope all goes great. It is a crazy feeling to know that I am going to be looking at the same face in the mirror in a few hours that I will see looking back at me in a few months on that very special day! WOW - time flies!
Hope all your weekends are FUN-tabulous! I wish I was out planting flowers in my flower bed, but right now I'll totally settle for staring at my new driveway!
No pictures this time - just a quick hello!

WE LOVE CONCRETE!!!

Who would have thought concrete could be so exciting?! I tell you, I've never been so joyed to wake up to the sound of a work truck beeping outside the window until this morning! Music to my ears! What was even better was turning the corner after work to a driveway! YAY! While I snapped some shots, Kia posed for me, so I got distracted! She's so much prettier than concrete though!

So pretty I am!

A driveway, can you believe it?!

What a Weekend!

Well, the weekend just FLEW by! Saturday I went to yoga and then Nicole came over and helped with invitations! It was a lot of work, and I wouldn't of been able to get through them all without her! We had a good time...it was fun, relaxed, and very productive - what more could you want (besides maybe a nap!!)?!? She left quite late and Trevor and I fell asleep watching a movie.
Trevor was so very excited that he got to get his new entertainment gadgets! All I can say is THANK GOODNESS the package came with free installation...it was ridiculous! They were here Saturday from 9:30 AM to 9:30 PM! I felt very bad for them...they were only supposed to be here for 3 hours...so lets just say it didn't go well! Needless to say we are now the proud excited owners of a pretty great bonus room! Too bad we've been so tired to enjoy it! Every time we put a movie on we fall asleep! Man, we're lame!
Today was equally as busy. I went to yoga...and Trevor got busy fiddling with buttons on the new tv, etc. So, when I got home, we went shopping for a coffee table and end table. We pretty much knew what we wanted. I think we are going to go back and finalize the sale tomorrow! So very exciting! It will be the last furniture we have to buy. After that it's just the odd wall decoration/picture here and there...it will be nice. We are definitly settling in nicely. We then had my parents over for a DELICIOUS bbq courtesy of Trevor (he's good on the grill!) and talked wedding talk! Wedding, wedding, wedding! All the details are endless! It's definitly coming quickly! June seems to be a busy month for wedding stuff, whether it's meetings or shoe shopping, we have our hands full!
After my parents left we went for a truck ride and stopped on the side of Ellerslie where we kept seeing a pathway that looked exciting...let me save you the dissapointment...it's not exciting. What we were hoping to be a nice trail in nature turned out to be a big dump! I mean freezers, garbage, motors, clothes, glass. Gross. Kia didn't mind, I'm sure she thought it was great to have more stuff to pee on, but we were sure disappointed! We did manage to see a dear! So, until Kia scared her away, that was nice!

Hope you all had a good weekend!

Wedding Invitations, Hot Yoga, and STUFF!

Wedding invitations! What was I thinking!!??! I spent all day Sunday working on the invitation (notice how that word was singular!). We are still working on finalizing the ONE invitation before I mass produce it! I think the Michaels store should know me by name now, it ridiculous how many times I've been there the past week! It is a long process and I can promise you - - - every one has an opinion. I am open to input, but sometimes it's hard to accommodate everyone's beliefs, styles, and points of view. I am doing my best, but don't quite want to share yet! What's the fun in that?! I am not working this hard to blow it away in some picture! This puppy deserves the real deal and the proper opening in person via mail! So keep your fingers crossed that some major FAST work gets accomplished this weekend! I have a great MOH that has dedicated her Saturday to me...should be fun, I'm quite looking forward to it!
Other than that...there have been two more driveways prepped this week for pouring...and NEITHER of them are ours! Ugh, I wonder what it's like to park in the garage?! I have tidied the laundry room as Trevor was sweet enough to bring me my black cabinets. It looks SO much cleaner in there! I can actually SEE the counter top! Things are coming together piece by piece! Below is the clean, tidy laundry room...with...wait for it...NO LAUNDRY in it! It is a beautiful thing! I find that doing laundry is so much more enjoyable and easy when it is not in the scary basement (and when you have to see it every day!). Before, it was hidden so I would neglect it...for a long, long time. This new layout and house is so great!
Today at work, the cutest thing happened. I had my second last session with the Grade 2s and 3s at Hillview. After my Grade 2 class (before recess) one little boy followed me down the hallway and in his little shy voice said "just in case I miss next week because you never know what happens, I wanted to tell you thank you for coming and having fun with us". He was soooo cute! Made my day!
We received our first wedding present from aunty Avis and uncle John last night! It is going to be soooo tempting staring at me every day! Thank you so much for the visit, the laughs, and the gift - you're so kind to make time to see evey one on your very short trips out here!
Well off to put my yoga gear on!!!
Yoga, it's day 3 today. I'm hoping I fall into a routine! Damian was the teacher last night, and I HATE his classes. He keeps it at least 10 degrees hotter than everyone else, and trust me - that makes a huge miserable difference! But, I am leaving in half an hour to do it all over again! He's not there tonight, and I hope to avoid most of his classes throughout the next 30 days!
Trevor comes home tomorrow and we have an appointment with the photographer Tuesday night because she's back! YAY!
xoxo

So nice, yet so functional!

Do these look familiar to anyone?! LOVE THEM!

Clean as a whistle!

Can you see how it taunts me? Kristy...KRISTY!! AHH!
