Only One More Sleep!

So only one more sleep and then Trevor is home!  Yippee!  

Just wanted to send everyone a big thank you who wished me a Happy Birthday today and for the presents and for the lunch/dinner!!  27 candles on the cake - somehow adding 'mom' to my resume makes that feel older!  

Jackson scratched himself by his eye and has his first bigger owie!  I also am convinced that his hair is growing as fast as those finger nails (look at that faux hawk in the top pic and how tall it is getting!)!  He weighed in today at 11 pounds, 11 ounces!  They graphed it for me and he is in the 90th percentile...so his weight gain is really good.  

Can't wait for tomorrow.  Miss you Trevor.  Good Night.  

Sleep Tight!

5 nights down, 2 to go!  The count down is still on, and as promised, I am keeping up with the daily photos for Trevor.  We just finished our bed time bath and we are all settling down.  Good night to all...hope you have the sweetest of dreams!

Falling Harder Every Day

I took these outside on a blanket on the grass at about 9 pm...the sun was really nice for lighting and I just snapped away!  You know me, I couldn't choose (I took 110 in about 5 minutes - literally!)...so I picked my favorites to share!

So tonight I was taking photos of Jackson and I rubbed his belly and all down his arms and legs...and sweet talked him...this is what I got!!!

Unfortunately, it wasn't accompanied by a giggle...but I will keep waiting!!!

What's Black and White, and Blue all over?!...

Most who know me, know I quite enjoy my black and white photos...and even more, I love black and white photos with a hint of color...so I've been playing around with that while editing.  I'm not great at it yet, but enjoy the outcome nonetheless!

And then a couple others I couldn't pass up!  

Baby Bear

The countdown is still on!  We are 3 nights down and 4 to go.  We can't wait for everyone to come home!  I have been Skype-ing with Trevor, which is so nice!  Usually when he gets off his night shift, he calls in and it's when I'm feeding Jackson...so we visit and Trevor gets to see him too!  One time I had to use the washroom and I put Jackson on the bed and cleared the area and Trevor 'watched' him for me!  I could hear him talking to Jackson, and it was very sweet!  I've also Skype-ed with my parents - which was actually quite fun!  It's nice to see people even though they aren't here.  

Today, Nicole and I went to the Farmer's Market.  It wasn't all that exciting - - - we wished we were at the St. Albert one, but it doesn't run on Sundays.  I did find a little hat for Jackson though.  It isn't really what I was looking for, but I thought it was cute nonetheless.  I love knitted hats that have cool textures and colors to them.  All the newborn shots I've seen online that I love have the newborns wearing cute little knitted hats that are in bright colors or really cool textures (but where the heck does one find these hats?!).  This one I loved the ears/horns on, so I decided to grab it.  When I have more time, I want to do the photos in black and white and add the color to just the hat...I will show a finished one when the time comes!  

I miss Trevor like crazy.  I miss my parents a whole heck of a lot.  I miss being able to just go see them for lunch or call them at night or during the day.  I'm very lucky that I have some pretty fantastic people in my life and have been enjoying spending time with some of the girls.  

A big thunderstorm is rolling in as I type this and it is making both Kia and I very uneasy.

Waiting for Bottles to Sterelize

I am up...I am grumpy...I am waiting for the bottles to sterelize so I can prep and go back to bed.  The neighbors were having a party until 3 am with LOUD music which kept me up.  I was finally about to call the police and then it stopped.  I don't like being 'that neighbor' so I was really trying to tough it out...but it was the neighbors behind us so right by our master room and the bass was just pounding and finally at 3 am enough was enough.  I wonder if they called it a night or if someone else had finally had enough too!

Anyways...I hear the microwave now.

Thought I would share a quick photo of my birthday present from Jackson...it's a new strap for my camera and I LOVE IT!  It's pretty awesome.  Thanks little bug.

2 Nights Down, 5 To Go...

So, the countdown is still on.  Two nights are completed and in just five sleeps, our family will be back together.  I try to fill my days with outings and/or friends.  It helps...but it definitely isn't the same as having the three of us together.  Today was a long day and did not go as quickly as yesterday...but we are almost there!  Trevor is on nights, so that makes talking a bit harder too...

Yesterday's events consisted of a visit with Becky which included returning my lens (boo!) and hitting up West Ed (extra 40% off sale items at Gap Kids!!) and then an evening visit with Nicole and her parents.  It was nice and outside of Jackson's very upset tummy last night, it was a great day!

Today's events consisted of a nice morning walk with Nicole, a very tiny afternoon nap, and dinner with Ryan and Casandra.  Now the monster is napping!  I tried to do the same, but it just wasn't happening!  Besides, I promised Trevor daily pictures and updates...so one must follow through on one's word!  

I can't wait for Thursday...and it seems so far away!

The new casts of Jackson's hands and feet!  They are pretty cute.  We didn't quite catch that middle toe, but they turned out fantastic nonetheless!  Awesome keepsakes!

Maxin' & Relaxin'!

So last night I had Jackson on the couch with me on his tummy...in his stretching, he rolled into a nook and totally made himself comfortable! It was so funny because he was shirtless and only wearing his cargo shorts because it was so hot...and he just looked like such boy sprawled out there with his arms back snoozing!  It sometimes makes me giggle to think back to how much we were convinced he would be a girl and how very wrong we were!!!
