Snow Day!

Although most are probably looking outside their windows and cursing, we are looking out our windows and celebrating!  We have been WAITING for snow!  Oh how nice it is.  Yes, there is a lot at once, but isn't it pretty?!  Moose got a couple cool snow gifts for Christmas, and we were finally able to bust out the igloo!  I'm fairly sure Trevor was more excited about it than Jackson!!  Either way - we LOVED going out in the snow for a bit before nap time this afternoon :)

We are thinking we had a little too much fun outside as Moosey DID NOT want to come in the house...

He got over it - and is currently sleeping away!!

Cafe O Play - Finally

Finally - we went to Cafe O Play!  I've been wanting to go here FOREVER - but somehow it never happened.  We got to spend the morning with our new friends Monica & Grace :)  Moose LOVED it.  It is an amazing concept and to see Jackson interact with the other kids and play around and experiment with things that are new to him was good - for BOTH of us!

Can't wait to go back!

His favorites hands down were the slides and the cars!  He could NOT get enough!!

Paint

Tonight we still had the garbage bags taped to the floor from painting baseboards, so why not let Moose have some fun painting too!?

Good Night :)

Moose's Room Update

The update on Moose's room is that we have a few picture frames to hang and the paint touch ups to do (which I think we are avoiding!) and it's pretty much good!  His dresser looks great and has awesome storage!  I love his room.  I find it really fun and relaxing!  We finally got a black out shade and dad installed it behind his wooden blinds...which is sooo much nicer than the big drape.  I open it every morning before I take him out of his crib.  He has also found a new perch on his toy box and loves looking out at the 'snow' 'cars' 'balls' 'puppies' and anything else he can spy with his little eye!  Oh what he's been missing!!

Still waiting on the blanket & pillow I ordered for his bed...but soon enough it'll be here - and that's minor!  He is pretty settled in his room and doesn't even attempt to go into his old room...I feel so much more relaxed about Baby now that Moose is settled.

Never Happens!

Today Moose and I went for lunch with our friend Becky!  It was really great to see her...it's always nice to catch up!   Moose discovered for the first time ever that he...wait for it...can blow the other direction in a straw.  Yup.  Milk all over the table.  Tsk Tsk.    So every time that straw went in his mouth I had to remind him to drink - not blow!  Stinker.  Life is about learning (for him...and for me!).

Anywhos...Moose was full of cuddles for his Mama at the end of lunch...and I'm never gonna pass those up.  There is something so amazing about those little arms wrapped around my neck and that little head snuggled right next to mine.  It's magic.  It's priceless.  It's something that I never want to go away.  Ever.  Becky thought it was pretty cute too and wanted to take a photo.  I have very few photos of Moose and I together because I'm always the one taking them.  The first thing I thought when I saw it when she sent it to me later this afternoon is 'God, I look tired.  I'm so not keeping this photo!'.  And then I thought...'So friggin' what!  I AM tired!  I'm ALLOWED to be tired.  And I should overlook my own sense of insecurity and keep this rare memory of me and my Moose together in a cuddle' - - - because tired or not THAT'S what life is about!

I love you Moose.  I love your cuddles.  And although I won't tell you this - I love that you blew bubbles in your milk at lunch and got it all over the table - because you're 21 months old today - and 21 month old little boys should be experimenting with things like blowing bubbles in their milk from time to time!

Thanks Becky :)
