Introducing Baby 'S'!

We were lucky enough to reschedule our ultrasound for last night.  We went, enjoyed, and celebrated!  It was sooo much fun to see a glimpse of Baby S!  As soon as the ultrasound tech got a good shot of his face...I had to take a double look - because it looked sooooo much like Jackson's 3D ultrasound I couldn't believe my eyes!

Cheeks - Chubby, chubby, chubby!
Nose - Just like a button!
Lips - Defined, plump, and perfect!
Baby - BIG!

My favorite part of the ultrasound, although I realize it is fluke, was that every time we had Moose say baby's name, the baby smiled!  It made my heart smile.  Jackson seemed to totally get it at the ultrasound.  He kept saying 'Baby' and pointed at my belly.  He would say 'Baby' or 'S's' name.  He also started saying 'brother' last night in the tub - and it brought a lump to my throat.  God, if this is what love feels like...how can my heart grow even bigger to love another as much as my Moosey...I know it's possible - but what in the world will that feel like?!

This was our first shot!  If anyone was questioning whether or not he was a boy - question no further!  He's NOT shy!
Chubby cheaks, button nose, and cute mouth!
That plump bottom lip is so kissable!
Now some comparison shots...Moosey is on the left...Baby 'S' is on the right.

After we left the ultrasound, I was actually a bit panicked on the way home as I realized how big this lil guy is and how close we are to meeting him!  I really don't believe we will make it until April 2!

I hope you enjoyed seeing baby as much as we did!

I wanna be...

...just like Taylor Hall!

Before...

After...

Doesn't it break your heart a little?!  I can assure you I get sick to my stomach every time I see Moosey's eye.  So here's what happened...

This weekend was a nut show!  We had a very busy weekend between photoshoots and working on the house that we were excitedly awaiting our 3D ultrasound Sunday night to meet Baby S.  Well...nothing ever really does go as planned, does it?!  Sunday night arrived.  We were all dressed and ready!  We were just about to go downstairs.  Moose was in his room with both his Aunties.  I was washing my hands in the bathroom because they were covered in hair goop.  Now, Jackson spends tonnes of time with his Aunties...and really, they were in his room, what could go wrong?!  Well, I hear crying...and then I hear CRYING...the type of crying that I know something went very wrong.  And Wrong it did go.

Apparently, he went to walk towards Auntie Nicole and flukishly tripped on his carpet in his room, fell about a foot forward and his face hit the wooden part of his rocking chair.  Of course not the cushion...that would be too easy...the wooden part.  I hear them call my name, and I am frantically washing and wiping.  When I saw the immediate reaction his face had to his fall, I was almost sick and completely panicked. I was angry and confused.  I was scared.

Anywhos...Trev and I calmed Moose down (and ourselves), called Health Link, spent 30 minutes assessing the situation, and by the end of it all Moose was back to playing with his toys and watching boys play hockey outside.  The swelling had decreased SIGNIFICANTLY.  We were told what to watch for in the next six hours.  And we did...like hawks.

Evidently, his face hurts us way more than it hurts him because he isn't phased by it at all.  Each morning I wake up praying that it's going to be gone...or at least a bit better...but it only seems to be getting worse.  I realistically know that is how bruises work, but think somehow it should make an exception!  I don't want to take him out - afraid of what people will think or say!  Surely anyone who has a toddler knows that accidents are bound to happen...but nonetheless, I feel like a total failure as a mother.  How could I not have protected him from this?  How could it be this bad?  He's so daring and something like this is what gives him his first biggest battle scar?!  BREAKS. MY. HEART.

Needless to say, we DID NOT go to our ultrasound and Moose got tonnes of attention and cuddles that night.  And maybe still... ;)

Here are some other shots of the damage...

These photos were taken about 30 minutes after all was calmed down and we were off the phone with Health Link, so about 2 hours post incident...

And then the next morning, it looked like this...

The swelling went down, but the bruising got so much worse :(
I've yet to get a shot of it today, but he definitely has a black eye.  Trevor tells people it's a hockey injury!  I am told with another boy on the way...I best be getting used to things like this, but the truth is, I don't think my heart will EVER get used to this.  The guilt I have is unreal!  Each day is a new day - and each day will bring some healing!

Busy Week Ahead!

The flooring has arrived!  It is sitting in my front entry!  Piled high...all 80-some boxes of it!  Pair that with installing the lights and finishing up the electrical...I forsee another busy busy week ahead of us!  But this one should be waaaaaay fun as I think it will be a huge progress and a very exciting achievement!  Tomorrow marks home day!  Woo Hoo!

Another note - out of no where last night Moose started saying his baby brother's name!  I have no idea how he has picked this one up as we rarely say it.  It's a good thing we are very happy with our choice as there's no going back now!  We've been pretty settled with Baby S's name for a while now and are finally happy with the middle name choice (Thanks Nicole!)!  Hearing Jackson say it is the sweetest sound ever!  He sometimes pairs it with a point towards my belly or by throwing 'Baby' infront of it.  I really think he is going to be a great big brother.  He has started giving my belly kisses and cuddles...and says Baby way more than ever before.  It's funny - I thought he wouldn't catch on - - - but he surprises me every day! Can't wait for you to hear it in person Trev...it'll melt your heart!  I'd post the video of him saying it...but what's the fun in that?!  There are some people who know the name...but we have mostly kept it a secret as everyone has an OPINION - and to be honest...I don't want to hear them ;)  We are happy and Moose is happy and that's ALL THAT MATTERS :)

Enjoy your Wednesday nights everyone!

Still Loves to Color

I love that when he's in the pantry he points at the chalk dish and says 'color?' when he wants to color!

Sickling

Moose has been under the weather the past couple days.  It started when he woke up at 10:30 pm two nights ago to throw up :(  Poor Mr.  He woke up the next morning with a snotty nose and a cough.  We took it pretty easy yesterday...I made him a special breakfast...all cut up in hearts!  Isn't that what a little sick boy needs?!  To be surrounded by love?!  He gobbled it up!  He's been doing ok...still fighting the snot...but the cough is diminishing!  He should be good to go by tomorrow because Trev comes home - and that's usually what happens!  I feel so lucky that he's such a happy happy boy - even when he's sick and has every right to be less than happy!

I love this boy!  SNOT AND ALL!

Painting is Done

The painting is now complete!  We are anxiously awaiting the flooring and I am HOPING that it arrives early this week so I can go get it and let it 'climatize for 72 hours' in the basement so it's good and ready when Trevor gets home!

I love it.  It's hard to see in pictures - because it looks darker than it is!  It's the same colors as the rest of the house...but with the lights installed - it won't look so dark!  I can't wait!  I think maybe that could be done next time Trev is home!  Ahhh...electricity!

Nothing Important!

 Dinner time faces :)

Miss You Dada!

DUST!!

I've totally lost track at how many times I've dusted. Last night Caitlin came over and oh-so-kindly helped clean.  It seems like a lost cause!  Nicole made a joke that I should just leave it and let Jackson paint in it...I cringed inside and thought 'over my dead body' and then I turned around to find the table looking like this...and I wanted to die!  I'd like to think that since last night's big clean and the painters working away to seal in the dust...everything seems to be slowing down - hopefully my table won't look like that any time soon!
