Stroller Excitement!

Today was a VERY exciting AND LUCKY day!  Trevor and I went to E Children to look at strollers and car seats because they are always so knowledgeable...and sure enough, did they know their stuff!  We lucked out because they were clearing out there 2009 Skate Peg Perego strollers (which is what we were looking at!).  They were Final Sale, but they only had ONE BLACK ONE LEFT (the other two left were the red that you see above...not our thing!)!  So we snatched it!  It is the black with the bubbles.  The first picture shows our new car seat, which I could just stare at, and it's empty!  It is black and beige, and the beige is a suede soft leather.  So nice.  Great quality!  The stroller is awesome...it has the bassinet which is used when the little man is just little on longer stroller outings when the car seat would be uncomfortable!  Then the bassinet turns into the toddler portion of the stroller!  So cool!  We love our new purchase and can't wait to put it to good use!

They have a cool stand that you can get that the car seat, toddler chair, and basinet fit into so you can use them as pieces of furniture too!  Genius!

Thought I would post our very exciting news!  We are thrilled to be one step closer to welcoming baby into our lives!  We are also painting this weekend, so that is starting to tie things together!  We also ordered the tree for the nursery and are waiting for the crib to come in!  Can't wait!

Hope you are all watching the Canada game right now!  GO CANADA GO!

Highs and Lows

Week Low:

I've been sick and as much as I try to get better, I find no such relief!  The onset started with a sore throat last Friday, but has gradually gotten worse!  I have hope that it will get better!  I had Trevor here who took such very good care of me...we were limited...so it was just tea and a vaporizer for the most part!  He slept like a baby through the nights - which I am oh-so-envious of!  He's back at work now, and my family is in California, so I'm just lying low and trying to rest as much as I can.  Here's to hoping to more success in the sleep department!

Week High:

Well, it's not been a great week with being so very sick and sleep deprived.  I even missed a day of work.  BUT, this morning I was laying in bed and not only did I feel the baby move (which has become more of a pattern), I saw a thudding on my stomach!  How cool is that!?  It sucks that Trevor wasn't here to see it, but I'm sure next time he's home, we will be able to experience such excitement together!  Hopefully we will try to catch it on tape!  It was so amazing!  Usually when others try to feel my little guy move, he stops!  But this morning, my eyes caught it a few times, and it was so very special!  YAY for our growing baby boy!  I've been waiting for these moments for what seems like forever, and it's so sweet to taste them!

Enjoy your weekends!

Weekend Update

Well, this weekend has been up and down.  I've been fighting off a cold that is gradually getting worse - probably partially due to the lack of sleep I'm getting (because of the cold!)!  Mornings have been rough around here and tonight has been the worst so far as I'm battling a headache, congestion, and some stomach nausea.  Fun, fun!

On a lighter note, Trevor and I did a little bit of shopping for baby this weekend!  We also got some stuff done around the house, which is really helping.  We bought cute little coat hangers and I did all the baby's laundry and hung it in the closet - unorganized - but hung!  It was so fun hanging all his little outfits!  We also bought these adorable booties in the spirit of the Olympics!  Also, there was a stellar sale at Old Navy (everything 30% off)!  I was able to get a couple tops for me and some really cute onesies and jeans for the little man!

Another highlight of the weekend was that we were invited to breakfast with Brennon and Chantal!  We really don't see them nearly enough and it was so great to spend a morning laughing and chatting away!  She was so sweet, she even brought little babe an outfit, stating she couldn't resist!  It is pretty cute, as you can see below!  Again, thank you both so much and we can't wait to see you very soon!

Oh, and the picture of Kia was taken as when I turned around from taking photos of the little man's closet, there she was waiting for her turn!  Man, I love her!

Change of Template!

Okay all, I've gotten many comments from some of my loyal followers that they were struggling to post on the blog, so I changed the template hoping that may assist the process!  Please let me know if this still doesn't bring you any success!  Here's to hoping!...

Oh Canada!

I am so excited that the Olympics will be underway!  I was shocked when I heard that the opening ceremonies were 7 hours!!!   It is a little bitter sweet having them so close to us and yet not being able to witness and partake in the events!  To have them in Canada is so exciting!  Just throwing out some Canadian Pride!

22 Weeks

Well, yesterday we celebrated our 22 week milestone! Can you believe this?!  I remember thinking week 12 would never get here and then week 16 and now we are at week 22!!!  I think it puts into perspective just how quickly this excitement is approaching us!  Between getting the yard and stuff around the house done, I think we will blink and the big day will be here!

I've been feeling good.  Have had more energy than I have in a long time and eating is getting better!  It's nice to be feeling better!!

We've started getting the nursery together and we now have our dresser/changing station, armoire, crib, bedding, a painter on the way, and some clothing!  Oh, and a changing pad!  It's getting exciting having all this baby stuff floating around!!  I think once the room is painted and we can start to put it all together, it will really take on a life of its own!  Thanks to mom and dad for all the help throughout this process!

Today I have a massage booked at Sweet Mama and I've been looking forward to this!  My body has been craving a rub down, especially my back and feet!  Sweet Mama specializes in services for expecting mamas and they are the nicest little spa!

Anyways...here is a glimpse into week 22...

How your baby's growing:

At 11 inches and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Hope you all have a great day!

21 Weeks and Enjoying

How your baby's growing:

Your baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long. You may soon feel like she's practicing martial arts as her initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. You may also discover a pattern to her activity as you get to know her better. In other developments, your baby's eyebrows and lids are present now, and if you're having a girl, her vagina has begun to form as well.  (BUT WE AREN'T!!!).

We had our monthly visit at the doctor's this morning.  It was a quick in-n-out deal again.  Basically measured the uterus, found the heartbeat (152 bpm), said that our blood work came back negative for Down Syndrome (Phew!), and said the ultrasound looked good.  Although it's routine to them, I am always left feeling a little bit of the 'that's all' feeling!  However, I have been assured that if they have concerns, the appointment would have a very different tone to it!  So, I am happy and all seems healthy!  Our last ultrasound showed that the hemmorhages are still there (both of them) but they haven't grown.  They haven't shrunk either - but they haven't grown!  So, we will bounce along our merry little way!  Next app't is set for the 4th of March...

I have signed up with Moms Town, a country-wide moms group that has a group for South Side of Edmonton moms.  I love it so far, and surprisingly see a lot of the members coming to groups I'm running right now at work!  Small world!  They offer all of these free classes and meetings for moms to learn and get to know each other.  I'm anxiously looking forward to a Breastfeeding 101 class that I've signed up for that happens on Saturday. So far, this will be my first involvement with Moms Town, but they have a monthly calender of events - so hopefully I will fit in more.  They are also doing a six session pregnancy seminar for us expecting mamas - the first one being at the end of the month - so I'm thinking about those too!  I've heard it's a great way to get connected.  I've also been advised that it is a great idea to connect with other moms-to-be, experienced moms, and to prepare myself BEFORE baby comes so we are both more confident in the whole process and have a support network of others going through similar stuff! (And future play date buddies)!

So, I'm looking forward to it all!  Yay for being a mom-to-be!  It's becoming so exciting as we get closer and have been doing more preparing and shopping and planning!

Talk soon!
