Monkey See - Monkey Do

Part of Jackson's helping around the house is that he feeds Kia.  He is very good at it, and I think someone is following in his footsteps!  I heard some rummaging the other morning after cleaning up from breakfast!  I hunted the down the noise, found the source in the closet, and followed him on his mission...a few pebbles at a time!

Anything his brother can do, he's determined he can do too!

Saturday Evening Phone Photos - Last Weekend

 The first Snowflakes falling!

Not happy at all, right!?

Glow Bath

I'm not overly sure why I couldn't think of this on my own, but I didn't!  My friend Stacy suggested it to me and the boys loved it!  We have glowsticks from the dollar store (10 for $1!).  So I popped a couple and tossed in the tub, turned off the light, and done.  HUGE HIT!

Sorry for the crappy photos.  Dark room = grainy shots!

First Snowfall

These two were thrilled with the first snowfall this year!

It's fun now, I'm sure the novelty will wear off in about four months - for all of us! Haha.

Can you taste the hot cocoa that was enjoyed after this!?  Complete with Halloween marshmallows!

I think that I'm almost caught up on here!  Can you believe that?!  I can't.  I've spent about four hours working on it today - so I hope that SOMEONE out there is able to appreciate the effort!  Now to stay on top of it!

Trick or Treat

It was a lot of fun having Trev home for Halloween this year!  He was pretty excited.  He even threw together a costume for himself...complete with lights and noise!  A hit all around!  The boys did awesome.  Sawyer made it through a couple crescents and then Jackson and Trev went out for a bit longer after leaving Sawyer back at the house.  We got 32 ish kids - which is a step up from the 7 last year - still I want MORE!  Too many people take their kids to the malls - I want to see the costumes!  Part of the memories growing up trick or treating was braving the cold!  Going home to warm up and empty your bag and going back out again!  The boys looked adorable in their robot costumes.  Many thought I made them - oh how I wish I had that sort of talent!

I made the boys special ghost pancakes for breakfast!  Yum.  When Jackson finished his pancakes and asked for more, I put normal pancakes on his plate.  Oh the look I got!

And then off the boys went!...
This may be one of my favorite photos.  Just so cute.  'Oh bother'!

Ball Hockey

Mr. Moose started ball hockey on Saturday mornings.  He seemed to like it.  It was all pretty sweet!  I feel like I've waited for this day for 10 years ;)  haha.  I hope he grows to love it.  He seemed to have fun and in the end, that's all that matters!

Pumpkin Carving Fun

I was absolutely shocked at how into the whole pumpkin carving Jackson and Reece were!  I thought they'd lose interest fairly quickly or be grossed out by the gutting of the pumpkin but that was totally their favorite part!  The only thing missing from the night was Chad.  His plane got delayed significantly, so sadly he wasn't a part of the majority of the festivities as we had initially planned.

This is the big pumpkin Trev got to carve!  We got a few huge pumpkins this year, but ran outta time.  Isn't that always the case?!  Never enough time!

Amy and Reece worked on a pumkin...and Jackson and I worked on a pumpkin.

The kids gutted and Amy and I carved. Both used templates for the first time ever.

Jackson and my pumpkin was George!...

Amy and Reece's pumpkin was Dora!...

I think her pumpkin totally kicked my pumkin's behind - but both turned out well!

Then Trev got his carve on with the big guy.  It turned out pretty awesome.  We had bought a sensor/light.  When someone walked by it lit up and said spooky things!

The worst ending to this story is none of the pumpkins made it to Halloween night!  Amy's melted in her heated garage because she forgot she had left it on the floor.  Poor Dora!

Mine and Trev's lived on the porch and the wacky weather caused them to freeze/thaw, etc...and the started to cave.  I was pretty choked at the outcome, but it didn't take away the memories we had of the night!  So much fun!
