Cereal

As mentioned, we started Sawyer on rice cereal.  We've been told and have also read that you can attempt to introduce it between 4-6 months.  Given his weight, head control, and solidness - we went for it.  We tried a couple weeks ago and he had ZERO interest.  So we waited.  Tried again yesterday and sure enough...he was totally into it!

Does anyone else look at these photos and wonder how the heck he's gotten so big!??!

Sawyer's 4 Months (a while ago!)

This post is way too late...but I guess that's what happens when you have two littles and a busy summer and so much going on and little sleep!

Our little Sawyer Bear is 4 months old already...scary, right?!

What's he up to?...

- Chatting up a storm.  He loves his play mat, just like Moose did, but has a dog that he just loves to stare at -

- Is SO CLOSE to rolling from his back to his belly...in fact one time he was close enough that I almost counted it! -

- LOVES his brother.  Anytime Jackson is around Sawyer finds him and is all grins! -

- Loves to engage with people, is easy to get to smile and laugh -

- He is very easy going and is content being a part of everything -

- Just yesterday we started some rice cereal.  I tried a bit ago with no interest and then yesterday he was grabbing my hand and shoving the spoon in his mouth! -

- Was a good sleeper at night (waking once) until he got sick. Now he's waking anywheres from 2-4 time...and we are soooo over it!  We are hoping he settles back in soon! -

- Is wearing 6-9 or 6-12 (depending on brand) clothes and it's crazy.  He is more comfortable in the 6-12s...which is just ridiculous. - 

- Likes to stand and be in his jumper -

- Is already in a rear facing carseat in Dada's truck because he was just not happy in the bucket -

- As of two weeks ago he weighed 18lbs 8 oz. - - - Holy Cow! -

- Is starting to nap more consistently in the day (one short morning nap and one long afternoon nap and one cat nap at night) - 

- Both boys bath together now as Sawyer pretty much outgrew his baby tub -

- Loves reaching for things and has a good grasp on him -

- Loves to look in the mirror - 

- Is SUPER hard to get to take a bottle unless it's his before bed bottle.  It is frustrating and annoying and you really wouldn't know it by looking at him that he struggles to eat his bottle!  He has a nipple preference of TWO nipples and is so darn picky it's ridiculous! -

- Has his brothers amazing eyes -

- Is really really REALLY stinkin' cute! -

Quickly

Time is going quickly.  I have been super busy lately as you can tell from my lack of updates!  It feels like time just flies when Trevor is home and there isn't a lot of time to sit down and blog!  But I really need to get back to it.

Today I had some alone time with Sawyer.  Trev and Moose went to Walmart to get groceries and Sawyer and I played and got ready.  He really is getting so big.  I can't understand how it happens so fast.  I put him in an outfit I've been waiting for him to wear this morning, it's 6-12 months in size, and he fits it comfortably.  Probably more comfortably than a lot of his 3-6 month clothes right now!  How does that happen so fast?  He is a happy boy.  Been giving us a bit of grief at night ever since he's been sick...but we are working through it and trying to be more structured with his sleep and eating during the day...here's to hoping!  I will tell you more about him soon...I really want to get to a 4 month post!  Until then...here's some cute pics of him from this morning :)  He has such a stinkin sweet face!

His hair is sure coming in...and fair too.  I remember when Mooses came in and it was so light and fair!

I really just want to eat him up.

Aren't they handsome?!  Jackson and Sawyer's faces look so much alike to me lately.  I find it so surreal to see them sitting next to each other!  Cute.

Lost Photos

These photos were found on the camera when I uploaded our Heritage Day photos.  Oops!  I was going through them and I burst out laughing at the end of it!  The date was June 20.  The event, was a feed/burp session with dad.  The end result?  Maybe some irritation!?  When I got to the last photo from this event...I laughed so hard because although we totally forgot about these photos seeing that one totally took me back to the moment it happened and how hard we laughed!

Go Away Mom!  Shame on you Sawyer Reid! 

Heritage Days

 Yesterday we went to Heritage Days.  I was VERY leery of this mostly because of the heat and how much lil bear isn't a fan of it...but you know what?  It went fabulously!  Despite the ridiculous heat...the boys were awesome!  Both were troopers and made the trip enjoyable!  We did the park and ride and took a 'city bus' as Jackson would say.  The boys both did amazing on the bus in the stroller and I couldn't believe how much they looked like each other as I sat there looking at them side by side.  Brothers they are!  We went with Auntie Caitlin, Auntie Cole, Nana Selma and Papa Kurt!  Papa Kurt spent a lot of time with Moose, taking him around and explaining all sorts of things to him with his awesome German accent!  I wonder if Jackson notices it!?  That family adores our boys and we are so grateful for having them be such a strong role in their lives!  I often hear about Nana Selma and Papa Kurt!  In fact, Jackson has a book about a Zamboni that has a picture of the author on the back...it resembles Papa Kurt a fair amount and every time Jackson sees it he says "Night Papa Kurt"!  Cute!  Auntie Cole says she wishes Papa Kurt invented the Zamboni, but no such luck!!!

The highlight for me and probably Jackson was the kids area where they had inflatable fun.  The one that Jackson took a liking to was really cool...it was almost like a bit of an obstacle course that he had to fight through and then climb over a wall to slide down the slide.  It was sad when we had to leave that part!

Are you surprised that he found the dump truck?!  I'm not!

Throwing rocks in the water!  And cooling off our feet!  Did I mention it was HOT!?

Galaxyland

So Saturday morning rolled around and my mom and I were talking and she mentioned that they wanted to take Moose to Galaxyland.  He had never been...and I thought - why not.  It was fun...once he caught on that the rides do come to an end and you have to get off and go back in line if you want to go again...or did he catch on?!  My dad actually got smart and when the ride was about to end, he's tell Jackson, 'this tractor is going to run out of gas soon, and when it does, we'll go find ourselves another one'...no tears.  Genius.  Anywhos...Galaxyland is the hardest place to take pictures in...EVER!  The spinning, the lighting, the movement, the people.  Argh.  But, here's a few as proof that we were there!

 

By the way, kids 2 and under are free with a stamp - so get em in while you can!
