Newport Beach

On Mother's Day we took a drive out to Newport Beach.  It all went far better than I'd imagined.  Jackson was completely consumed with creating sand castles and getting water from the ocean, and Sawyer completely surprised me.  I thought he was going to be quite bothered by the sand and the feeling and the mess of it all - and he LOVED it.  LOVED IT!  He was right in there like a dirty shirt!  Feeling it, playing with it, tasting it!  It was so fun to see it all through his eyes!  It was a success, the weather was cooler - which was nice, and the boys had a great time!

I hope all my favorite Mamas out there had a wonderful Mother's Day with their sweet children!

Pool Time

Going in the pool was an every day must while visiting California!  Not only because of the heat - but because my children are FISH!

I love this photo!  He was watching Jackson and I could just see the absorption written all over his face!  He wants to be just like his big brother!  I think he's thinking 'PUH-LEASE - I can do that too - just give me the chance!'

Disneyland Day 2

Two days ago we did a day trip to Disneyland.  Well that's a bit misleading, we actually only did California Adventure.  One day is just not enough to do both parks!  It's a push to do one park with two youngins and no naps!  Jackson was a rock star.  We actually didn't rent a stroller for him and he pretty much walked the whole day.  Sawyer, on the other hand, didn't want to nap.  His idea of napping was a (hard worked for) 20 minute catnap.  Stinker.  All in all, it was a nice trip.  Auntie Nicole had never been to Disney and it was all around fun to share the experience with the boys!  Jackson was tall enough to go on the Cars racing ride.  Last time we were disappointed that we weren't, so this time we waited the hour wait.  He was hovering around the 40 inch height mark and people varied on whether or not they let him on certain rides.  In fact, he went on the stinkin' jelly fish ride twice and the third time got turned away.  All within a 20 minute time frame.  Ridiculous!

Jackson also wanted to get his face painted.  He was convinced he wanted to be a lion.  Lions weren't an option.  A tiger was though.  Instead of this...he was convinced and certain that he wanted the 'mardi gras' choice instead.   Yup, he looked...pretty!?  Sawyer loved it!

Between blue slurpees, Rainforest Cafe, lineups and rides, face painting, and a tiny bit of character sightings - our day ended fairly well.
