Easter

Last night we went to my parents' for Easter dinner.  Trev is away working, which sucks - so it's actually a pretty quiet weekend.  The Easter bunny is supposed to come tonight...will see if that happens!  It certainly came at my parents' house yesterday afternoon.

My parents also went overboard and got my brother's family and our family a 'family gift'.  I for one can't wait - and I can assure you that the boys will be ALL OVER this ALL SUMMER.  And maybe us too!  I can't wait to have some bbqs and let the kids run around and play.  Ah summer, I'm starting to look forward to you :)

My favorite part is that it folds up into this...

Trevor and I have been against having a swing set or play gym in our backyard as there is an awesome park literally a block and a half away so it's a great excuse to get out for a walk and a change of scenery.  But we always said we would love something that can go up and down when we want to use it.  Both our boys LOVE water and last year at a buddy's bday party they had an inflatable water slide and it was a huge hit with Jackson.  We've kept our eyes open.  This one is awesome.  It can be used both wet and dry...and I have a feeling it will be used wet most of the time!  So exciting. I can hear the giggles already :)

Happy Easter

Sawyer Bear

Sawyer bear had to be stripped down after his noodle mashing at lunch!

He was just so cute I had to quickly grab the camera :)

Family Walk

I don't know about all of you guys, but around here we are starting to feel some 'Spring itch'.  We are really itching to be outdoors and to go for walks and to the park.  Tonight we powered our stroller through the ice and crunchy snow for a family walk.  It was worth it to get out of the house and enjoy some outdoor fun.  When Trev was putting Moose down tonight, he asked what his favorite part of the day was and I heard Moose say 'Ummm...playing outside'.  Agreed!

I was able to snap some pics on the bridge and at the park of our outing.  The boys are just growing too darn fast.  Sawyer is back to waking at night in a starving fuss.  We weighed him today and he's gained a couple (ah hem...FOUR) pounds in the past two weeks.  It's going somewhere...his pants are too short, his onesies are too short - and we really had to SHOVE him in his snowsuit tonight.  28 lbs is what Sawyer rang it at tonight on the scale (FYI - Our 'Moose' was just over 26 lbs at a year.  However, had he not been a preemie - I'm thinking he and Sawyer would be more on even ground!).  Yup, our little Bear is getting BIG on us very quick.  We are squeezing him in though as I am in denial and do not want to bump him up to the 2T bin!  NOT UNTIL HE'S AT LEAST ONE!  I said to my Grandpa today that I'm going to need to get a pitch fork when these two boys start rough housing.  I'm guessing by the time they hit Grade 7 they will be as tall as me!  Any Wagers?!

Where did my little babies go?!

Waterpark Date

We have some Waterpark passes to use and it's been so hard to find time but today we made a date with the LeBlanc family!  We were all really efficient and decided to meet at 10:30 am!  Well...the Waterpark doesn't open until noon!  Talk about efficient!  Four adults and not one of us looking up the hours....oi.  So, we did what anyone would do.  We killed time.  It felt a little bit like we were tourists at WEM!  We paid the $1 and went on the Pirate Ship.  We perused the pet store.  We peeked at the sea lions.  It ended up being worth it.  Actually the Waterpark totally zonked me out and I'm still ubber tired!  I don't know how the kids have all the energy they have!  Baby Grace was like an energizer bunny...she just keeps going!  Sawyer is totally relaxed.  And Jackson could me amused with any of the activities there!

It was fun.  A good first experience for Bear!

Scissor Lift Surprise

Aside from the critter fun yesterday morning, Moose also got to see a scissor lift in action.  The machine can go 50 feet in the sky, but we didn't go that high.  Just a wee little ride.  And we are still talking about it.  In fact as I was getting the photos ready for the blog, Moose caught a glimpse and shouted 'WOWEE!  Scissor lift with Papa!'.  Elephants never forget around here!

Does the smile tell it all?!  What a lucky lucky boy!

Evidence Free...Almost

Almost two weeks back both boys got pretty darn sick.  They are just about completely free of any sign of this now.  Sawyer's got a bit more work to do...but pretty much looks like himself!  We never got a 100% diagnosis from the doctor, health link, or emerg at Stollery - but the closest thing the doctors could relate the some of his symptoms to was Hand Foot and Mouth Disease, although nothing was completely consistent with their symptoms (rash on arms, legs and hands - but not in mouth or soles of feet and nothing on his trunk anywhere.  It was so weird).  Scary.  But...whatever it was - we are glad to be seeing it go.

This is Sawyer the day we decided to call health link.  As I was stripping him down, it was literally getting worse right before my eyes.  We chalked it up to nothing and they told us that if it were blistering, we'd be concerned.  Phew.

The next morning, it was blistering.

We phoned Health Link and got an immediate green light for Stollery Emerg due to the inconsistency of symptoms.  Docs there were efficient and great.  It's always nice to be so close to such an amazing health care facility.

Poor bug.
