Sig!

Tonight I was lucky enough to meet Sig!  He is a sweet pup who is about one year of age!  My friend Alina and her boyfriend Spencer have been looking at getting a pup for a while and have fallen for a couple along the way - each time having them adopted by another family first!  This time, they weren't going to let that happen!  Sig was taken in by SCARS (Second Chance Animal Rescue) and Alina went out last night to meet his foster family and the little guy for the first time!  Needless to say, she came home with him!  He is a bit of a monster, and I mean this with love - I know he will provide her with many adventures!  Good luck to Alina until Spencer gets home...hope these photos make you both smile (Alina doesn't have a camera and was bummed that she had no photos!)...

I LOVE his ears!  They are so sweet!  They are thinking of changing his name from Sig to something else, but I think it totally suits him and love it!  That's my vote!  Enjoy your new 'puppy' you two!

Missing Daddy...

Jackson is smiling more and more...I can never seem to catch a full gummy grin though!  It is the elusive smile!  Hopefully soon I will be as quick as him!

2 sleeps down, 5 more to go (man, that sounds soooo far away)

We miss you Daddy!

Storm Watch

Tonight there was a storm that blew in VERY quickly.  We were bbqing and the wind picked up and then it started to pour!  I hate storms like that...well - I find them fascinating...but they scare the crap out of me!  Here are some pics of the clouds!  The storm was gone as quickly as it blew in!  Wish me luck on the sleep/feed situation tonight!

Smiley Friday

Jackson had a very short nap -  but again in his crib - this is progress!

When I went in there a while later, the below is what I found!  A very awake, smiling little boy!

So, the more I think about this whole pacifier situation, the more I think that I not only need to put in a more structured sleep routine, but I should maybe take away the pacifier too!  From the reading I've been doing and my personal experiences (crying as soon as it falls out and being up NUMEROUS times to re-pacify him), I'm thinking maybe we bite it in the butt now rather than later!  Ugh...who knows!  I will keep the pacify and sleep chronicles up to date!  Wish us luck!

Growing Boy

Well, it's official!  Jackson is growing!  I keep having people ask me how many months he is, and truth be told, our little preemie is only 7 weeks today!  He is now weighing in at 12 lbs, 2 oz (as of Wednesday!) and is sporting his 3-6 month clothing!  It makes me a little sad that he isn't a little baby anymore (not that he every was a 'little' baby!); however, he gets more and more fun every day as he starts to interact with his environment more!  He is making more noises, wanting to be more active, and staying alert for longer periods!  I can't believe how quickly time flies and how much these little babies grow in just a week!  Next week he will be two months already!

Anywhos...here are some pics from this morning!  Jackson has really liked sitting up and looking around lately, and his neck strength amazes me, so I decided to bust out his Bumbo Chair, and he seems to really enjoy it!  So cute!

His little 3-6 month outfit that I just love!  He already spit up on it!  Note to self, don't dress him in the desired outfit until RIGHT BEFORE you leave!

He may be growing, but his double chin isn't going away!

Searching and scanning the room

Are you looking at me?!

He could hear Kia's tail banging the coffee table, and his interest in me became obsolete!

This was the start of a smile, but I caught it too soon!  I hope one day soon they will be the best of friends and Kia won't be so afraid of him!  I think once he starts dropping food, they will be inseperable!

Another start to a smile!  He actually smiled back at me today!  It only happened once, but I will take it!

His feet have never fit into newborn socks!  In fact, he's been wearing 3-6 month socks since coming home from the hospital!  I have 0-3 month socks and occasionally we will slip them on him...but they fall off not long after!

Our more recent struggles have been getting Jackson to sleep!  He is always wanting to look around and doesn't want to miss out on anything.  We have read a couple books about routines and scheduling.  He so far is eating about 3 hours apart so part of him is already scheduled...just not the sleeping part!  I have made a commitment to attempt to make daytime naps part of an actual routine rather than letting him just fall asleep.  In fact, (knock on wood), he is taking a nap right now!  When I put him down, he was a bit uneasy and fussy, but once that paci went in his mouth, his eyes were out!  The only negative part of this is, when his paci falls out, his eyes open and he begins to squirm (if he hasn't yet fallen into a deep sleep)...so I've had to go back in a couple times to a bright eyed boy to put his paci in, and luckily his eyes have gone right back to sleep...haven't heard a peep out of him in about 15 minutes, so I went to check...and this is what I found!..

Post Bottle Bliss

Jackson always has his hands everywhere!  In his face, usually!  He is so funny...after his bottle he was just totally chilling - it really is a rough life you know!

Deck Delight

Our deck is complete!  Well...all the boards are laid...and the stairs and in the process of being thought-up!  We are very excited about it and can't wait for it to be finished!  Deck party - - - here we come!  On this day, I was house cooped...so we bundled up and watched the boys!  In the process, I kept seeing this bird fly by and commented...then Trevor found this wonderful bird's nest in our tree with some very sweet, delicate eggs in it!  I'm so excited and find it so cool that there is a family living in our tree!  The below picture is the closest I could get while balancing on boards and trying to zoom in!

Dog Park Walk Pics!

I know there are just a few and they are delayed...but thought I would share!  One thing is for sure, Kia was super happy!

Daddy's Home!

It was so nice to pick up Trevor today from the airport!   We waited for him inside and I got to meet some of the guys he works with that he's always talking about!  Then we hit up West Edmonton Mall, and enjoyed some time at the dog park as a family (FIRST FAMILY DOG PARK TRIP!!)!  It was lovely...I snapped some photos after as well...now we are just getting ready for bath time.  It's so nice to have our family back together!

Are my boys not just so handsome!?  I keep hearing how much Jackson is looking like Trevor...so here is a side by side!  I love the first one, and the one where Jackson is punching him in the face!

Happy Canada Day!

This morning, Jackson, Caitlin, and I went to Broadmoore Park in Sherwood Park for some Canada Day festivities.  It was good...we basically walked around and guiltily indulged in mini donuts!  It helped pass the day until we could pick up Trevor!

This was a picture of his cute onesie pre-spitup!
