Family fun in the backyard!

Well, after all was said and done tonight, Jackson was not at all entertained by us being inside, so we thought we'd hit up the backyard to play some frisbee with Kia and fertilize the plants!  We got him all bundled and were excited to see him in an outside environment!  Well, as you can see below...he quickly was out like a light!  Kia enjoyed the event and Trevor got the flowers fertilized!  Now we are watching Shutter Island...it's a bit of a mind trip!  So far, so good I suppose.

All curled up on my lap...so very sweet!

This is my favorite one!

I love his hair!

Kia was at least awake and having a blast!  She loved her frisbee time!

Busy Bodies

We had a busy day today!  Full of adventure...well, not really, but as adventurous as we get these days!  We ran errands!  We hit up West Ed, skipped over to Home Depot, danced our way over to South Edmonton Common to do some returns, and then settled in at home!  It was nice to get out, and Jackson did great!  It's quite enjoyable doing all these things as a family - - - we aren't looking forward to Trevor going back to work next week!  He keeps saying  he wants to call in rich - but we haven't figured out how to make that possible yet!  When we got home Jackson was awake after his feeding, so we had some family play time.  I sang the Bubble Gum song, and Trevor and Jackson danced, while Kia got in on the excitement!

So Handsome!

Personal Touch

My grandma cross-stitched this personal picture for Jackson.  I knew I wanted to have it as a keepsake and wasn't sure there was anywhere to hang it, so I suggested making it into a pillow!  As a result, my mom bought an awesome pillow that matches all of Jackson's other blankets, etc and my mom made it into a pillow.  So lovely!  Thanks to grandma and mom for the special touch!

Perfect Timing!

Trevor just got back from getting the mail and there was a very sweet, very thoughtful, very FUN surprise! Because it's Jackson's actual due date, I think it's perfect timing that this came in the mail!  My dear friend Theah (and Ken, Sophia, Callum, and Peko too!) sent a very special gift for Mr. Jackson!

Thanks so much for the thought and effort!  Jackson will LOVE the presents, I have no doubt!  Can't wait to see you all this summer!

I almost didn't want to open it because the wrapping paper was SO perfect!!

I also want to give a shout out to Sophia for her BEAUTIFUL artwork!  She must take after her mom who made the wonderful card!

XOXOX

Happy Due Date Baby Boy Jackson!

Today is the day our sweet baby boy was SUPPOSED to be born!  He has actually been with us now for just two days shy of four weeks already!  I am amazed at how long ago that feels - but then again at how quickly time is flying and how it just feels like it was yesterday!

It's almost scary...people always used to say - 'just wait until you have children, then time really flies' - and I would wonder to myself how much more could time fly than this - - - in the last four weeks, I have really witnessed this first hand!  I see babies that are three or four months old and wonder to myself how they grow that quickly from where we are today.  Then I get sad and understand why people want more and more and more babies!

I want to hold on to every moment...every time his hand curls around my finger...every time he snuggles into my neck...each sleeping noise he makes...his tiny toes and nose and ears.  Every part of him I want to freeze and put in a frame. I make an effort every day to be present to witness the miracle that he is.  So many people who have these three or four month olds will say to me that they don't even remember their babies that small!  If this is the case, I want to hang onto every moment we have been blessed with!

We were listening to some music today when this song came on that made me tear up and cry as I have been reflecting a lot on having Jackson in our lives!  Being that it is his due date today - Trevor and I have been talking about how our lives have changed and how blessed and lucky we are.  I thought I would share it with you all.  I hope on some level it makes you feel this same way about someone who has entered your hearts!

Strong Boy

Jackson surprises us every day! We still think it's amazing that we haven't even reached his due date yet and he's here changing our worlds more than we could ever imagine! He is so strong and so alert it amazes me. Since the beginning I've been amazed at his strength...but lately it's been crazy how determined he is to do things. He's been grunting and trying to roll over...but what is so amazing to us is his ability to control and move his head. He's been lifting it and turning it side to side for a while now (albeit - in a jerky fashion!) but more recently in the last day he has shown so much more control and holds it up for longer periods of time. We were taking the below photos tonight and he was just rocking it out, so Trevor ran down to get the video camera to catch some of it - - - he caught the tail end and our little man was a bit tired by then! But we thought we would share! That little bobble head gets away on him (and us!) at times, but he's made such progress! We were reminded several times that we have to measure his development based on his due date not his birth date...so this little guy is being measured to - - - well - - - minus two days!

Enjoy!

Oh, what a life!

We took some photos tonight of our little man!  I left some out to wait and decide on which of them we will use for the birth announcements!  I am on my way to starting them - - - I promise!   Hope you all love this mixture of pictures as much as we do!

Don't you just want to eat those cheeks AND the cheeky look!!

Deck Delight!

(how much is that puppy in the window?!)

The deck is underway!  It is far bigger in person than it was on the drawings!  We are very excited about this as we love to entertain outside and can't wait to bbq and have gatherings in our yard on our new deck!  Nice work boys!  Kia approves!

Too Cute for Words!

So far, this is hands down my favorite outfit!!!...

I'm going to have to get him to wear it before he grows out of it and take cuter photos to show it off!!!

How can bath time not be your favorite time when this is what you get to see!?!

Trevor + Kristy = Jackson

And then...

No More Photos!!!
