Hello Blue Eyes!

Thank goodness for the Baby Einstein mat...I didn't think we would use it this often this soon - but now I'm almost convinced that a play mat is a must for babies!  We are often using it during his active awake times!  My parents have one at their house too - a very cool one that I'll have to take photos of!  It moves and plays music!  It's by Lamaze which may have become my favorite baby toy maker!

We've noticed that Jackson's eyes are starting to lighten up a bit and show more of a blue color than before.  I am so excited to see what the final result is!

Sleep Baby, Sleep!

Yesterday I snapped a couple quick shots of Jackson sleeping!  He was rocking some awesome hair yesterday!  I looked back and so far there is only one day I haven't taken any photos (which sucks!)...I thought that was pretty interesting!  I can't wait to make one year photo album looking back at him.  I have noticed that the blog has helped me a lot remember little moments or dates...pretty smart!

So peaceful!

I find that I often get sleepy while watching him sleep, especially listening to his little sleeping noises!

Word!

One of the VERY sweet moms from the Rhymes Songs and Story Time group I used to facilitate made Jackson this cute hat!  I'm a bit sad it doesn't fit him better - because it couldn't be more adorable!  It makes him look like he's in da hood!  (especially with his little hand gesture!).

I had to post this picture...Trevor took this when Brennon and Chantel came for a visit last weekend!  This was pre-Jackson peeing on mommy at McDonalds resulting in a change of outfit!!

Four Generations Apart --- Still Connected at the HEART

A couple weeks ago my grandma and grandpa came to visit Jackson.  It's amazing to have four generations sitting in the same room...my grandpa had some cuddle time with Jackson where they got to know each other!

Tonight, Trevor's grandma came for a visit as well and with her she brought a bicycle for Jackson that Trevor's grandpa had picked out!  It's too bad he couldn't have come as well - but the thoughtful gesture is so very sweet.  He buys every great-grandchild a bike...and it's so amazing to have the opportunity to be a part of that :)

Boys will be Boys

We are so in love with our Jackson!  He is such a little boy!  He burps, he farts, and when he's sleeping...he's so very relaxed!  Most of the time his hands are up above his head!  We are very lucky to have such a special little man be a part of our every day!

Our family outing today was a trip to the Health Centre for Jackson's weekly weigh in!  He is now 9lbs 11 oz!!!  Holy cow!  They are very pleased with his weight gain!

Flowers under the Sun

So last night Trevor, Jackson, and I went to my parents to help assess their sprinkler system.  I brought my camera to take photos of Jackson, should any appear - but instead was able to take in some fresh air in their yard and snapped a few of some of their flowers and waterfall, etc.  I haven't taken pictures of anything but Jackson in the past few weeks, so I thought it was nice to take a pic of something else...and as you know from looking back - flowers and nature is one of my favorite things to photograph!  I know they aren't as exciting as baby photos...but I hope you enjoy nonetheless...

Warm Up Continued...

Two more shots that I wanted to share!  :)

I'm so in love with his itty bitty nose!

Warm Up!

I really want to take some sweet newborn shots of Jackson in the next couple of days...so tonight Trevor and I tested some things out...these are just some testers...hopefully I will work up enough courage to take some good shots soon!  I know there can't be any 'bad' shots...but I've been looking at some of the professionals' websites and envying their work (I'm really finding it hard to justify paying between $400 and $800 to have someone come to my home to take some photos...)...so I'm going to give it my best 'shot' in the next few days!  For now, I thought these were at least cute enough to share!

A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Today while waiting for Trevor to finish at Home Depot, I pulled our little camera out of the diaper bag.  To my surprise there were photos on it.  I had totally forgotten.  Usually we upload and delete right away, but it had been missed.  Anyways...it took me down memory lane of a couple weeks ago.  I had to share as a couple of them were just so very sweet.

I can't believe he will be three weeks old already on Friday...some of our memories already feel like they are so far in the past...

The Friday morning after not seeing my boys all night...this was my reunion...

His little hand wrapped around my finger melted my heart...

How cute was he?!  Seriously!?

Maxin' & Relaxin'

Many people questioned this phototherapy blanket being used versus the traditional bed - so we thought we would take some photos...the above shows the blanket itself and below is the cord that ran from the generator box to the blanket.  It was like a blue fibre optic cable.  He looked so much more comfortable swaddled into this blanket rather than when he had to lay uncovered under the lamp...yay Stollery!
