Happy Father's Day

It's always a nice treat to have Trevor home for a holiday.  Father's Day was extra special as - well - he's an extra special Dad!  When it comes to being a Dada, he's got it cased.  He's pretty fantastic.  I couldn't ask for a better role model for these two boys of ours.

We celebrated quietly with each other all day and then in the afternoon we had a bbq with my family.  And yummy food.  Beef brisket and warm potato salad and corn on the cob and corn bread - Y-U-M-M-Y!

Showing off their new swimsuits from their birthday!

Izzy is most definitely a water dog.  It was hard to convince her that she didn't belong in the water of the bouncy house.  She was all over it!

Sawyer has been all about playing in the sandbox lately.  He and Landon had a good ol' time getting dirty in there after dinner!

For Father's Day, we framed a couple prints.

This one for Trevor...

And this one for my dad...

Both turned out pretty darn cute :)

Friday Night

On Friday night Jackson had his first sleep over at Nana and Papas.  Nana picked him up after work and dropped him off the next morning.  It seems to have been a success.  Some play time with his cousin Landon, watching Wall-E after bedtime, popcorn.  All things a little boy would enjoy!

While at home, I had a photo shoot, Trev made delicious homemade wings and fries.  And I got to sneak away for a movie with a friend.  It was a nice night...I needed some time out after a week of potty training a puppy and a week full of 13 photoshoots while Trev is home.

Izzy loves cuddling up under a Moose or Bear to sneak away for some sleepy time.

This little one thoroughly enjoyed his wings.  Seriously, he is a carnivore!  He doesn't have a sweet tooth at all, if you want to entice him with dessert, you might as well throw some chicken or steak on it if you want him to try it!  His brother is the opposite, his sweet tooth is big enough for the both of them!  I wonder where he gets that!?  (Cough...Trevor..ah hem)!

Perfect Moment

This photo has now become one of my favorite Lacina/Ackerman photos of all time.  No one is looking at the camera but I think that is what makes it priceless.  Each of them is just in the moment.  The perfect moment!

Lacina Park Day

Last Saturday we had a great visit from some of our best friends.  The Lacina girls came out for a play date.  Every time these four kids get together, it's a great time.  Honestly, they don't fight.  They don't compete.  They are gentle.  It's really a good mix.  We feel so lucky to have the Lacina family as such dear friends.  It's been fun to watch our kids grow together!

We packed it in just in time as the nasty clouds rolled in to ruin our fun.  No word of a lie, it started to RAIN about 2 mins after we took cover inside.  Talk about timing.  Getting caught in that kind of rain with four kids and a puppy would not have been fun!

We watched a movie for some quiet time and then the rain let up and the kids were able to play outside before the girls had to leave...

 Pure. Joy.
