Today we drove out to Calgary for 'Day out with Thomas'. We left at 7 am! YAWN. I think Jackson was excited as he was up at 6 asking if it was time yet. Sawyer came out just before 7 and his first words were 'coo coo?'! I hadn't heard of this event before but Lesley had invited us to come along a couple months back and we agreed not really knowing what we were getting into. It was a lot of fun. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the day and I'm super happy it didn't rain or snow on us! The boys both got their faces painted; one as Thomas and one as Percy. They loved going on the rides and also enjoyed being on the 'coo coo'! All in all it was a great success and they got to spend some time with their cousins, Landon and Lowen. Thanks for the fun Birthday present Auntie & Uncle.
On the Thomas Choo Choo ride...
Sawyer checking out his new tattoo!
And then some face painting! I didn't think Sawyer would go through with this - but he did - willingly and with flying colors! Jackson really wanted to be 'thomas' and so we did Sawyer as 'percy'. It worked nicely. The looks on their faces when they saw each other or themselves in the mirror were priceless!!! I think it's the eyebrows - they just make them look so goofy!
Adorable. Checking each other out! No love was lost!
Landon was mostly interested in watching Thomas go around and around the track. That's what he came for - and that's what he was going to do!
I bought the boys each their own thomas whistle...they were a hit!
The also had a couple rides open. We did the carousel twice and then waited to go into a kid version of the ferris wheel. Adorable. Again, I thought Sawyer would chicken out - but he led the way and sat right next to his big brother. He enjoyed every second of it!
I totally struggled to look at them with those goofy faces painted - but it was worth the drive today! Special thanks to Auntie Cole who joined us for a date with Thomas! The more the merrier! So much fun. Percy and Thomas as now sleeping, and I'm going to follow! Good night everyone :)
