Mooseism

Mommy: 'I feel yucky'
Moose:  Comes and runs his hand gently down the middle of my face from the top down
Moose: 'No momma, you don't feel yucky.  You feel normal'.

Haha.  Ah the world through the thought process of a toddler - I LOVE IT!

Blast from the past

I was actually just talking about this to friends of ours tonight...and realized I never posted it!

I think this was one of Jackson's favorite days ever!

Rain - check!
Dirt - check!
Tractor Boots - check!
Daddy's Helper - check!
Working with Tractor - check!
Shovel - check!

Goodness - a whole bunch of favorites all in one activity!

iPhone Catchup

On average, any room in our house looks like this daily...but goodness is he coming up with some cool creations lately!
I went and got Moose from bed one night at about 9:15 to share this rainbow with him :)
Do I have something on my face?!

Some days he loves the swings...other days it's the worst thing in the world!
He is a yogurt MONSTER.  But greek yogurt!  Not the regular stuff!
On our way to our buddy Aidan's house, Moose crashed...
But he didn't let go of the candy he was saving for Aidan!
Good Morning!
Lucky to have such cute girlfriends!
Sawyer found this onion in the pantry and was convinced it was a 'ball' and continue to play with it as though it were a ball!

Keepin' it Clean

I don't think Moose has a more prized possession than his tractor.  A few weeks ago I took Sawyer out to run some errands while Moose and Trev worked in the yard.  When I got home there were some fun surprises waiting for me on my camera!

Mooseism

Jackson had a couple slivers in his feet from our stupid deck...and we had to get them out - which caused some tears...some begging to stop.  It was quite the to-do for him.  So the conversation went as follows...

Mommy:  Ok, we will just go get the scissors and cut your foot off then, that'll fix it.
Moose:  NO NO NO MOMMY.  DON'T CUT IT OFF.  NOOOO.
Mommy: Why, you don't need your foot anyways!
Moose:  I do, I DO need it!
Mommy:  Oh?  What do you need your silly foot for.
Moose:  For my SHOES Momma!

So so cute!

Birthday party on Saturday afternoon...

Little Girl steals Sawyer's toy and pushes him down.
Mommy stands up to go assess situation but pauses when she sees Moose rush over and hears...
Moose:  'HEY!  That's MY little brother.  You don't push him!'
Mommy sneaks over to Moose, gives him a high five and says 'atta be buddy.'

When the chips are down, these boys will have each other's back on the playground.  Although, something tells me Sawyer may be able to hold his own!  I wouldn't want to be up against those two!  Good thing we've always made a point to focus on gentle hands and using our words.  I want them to know that using their words and not violence is always the first/best choice.

Backyard Fun

The boys are always itching to play outside.  It's a regular question that I get throughout the day.  They just putz around.  Drive the tractor, play in the sandbox, find mischief...you know - boy stuff.  Sawyer actually has become quite fond of the tractor, which doesn't impress his big brother most times.  Jackson is great at sharing, but when it comes to his tractors, you can physically see the pain and panic it causes him to share.  Sawyer actually hopped on the other day and drove the friggin tractor!  I just stood there yelling 'SAWYER'S DRIVING THE TRACTOR, SAWYER'S DRIVING THE TRACTOR'.  It just goes to proce what I mentioned the other day about Sawyer skipping a stage to keep up with his big brother.  There isn't much more in the world that he thinks is great than Moose.  It's pretty neat.

I just love this first photo...for no particular reason.  It's just a silly shot of the boys putzin around the yard.  I think maybe because it's just that...a simple shot of them just being brothers.  Dirty feet.  Dirty faces.  Dirty shirts.
Target acquired...
Mission Accepted...
Looks to make sure his brother isn't chasing him down yelling 'NO SAWYER, THAT'S MY TRACTOR'...
And we're off!!!....
For all of three feet!

Operation Plants

We like doing little projects or experiments around here :)  One was a project from when I was in elementary!  We grew bean seeds in a vase with wet paper towels so we could see the bean break open and the roots and stem and leaves grow.  Pretty cool.  Then we planted the biggest one.  Trevor also had Moose plant some grass seeds so we could watch them grow as well!  Moose LOVES doing these little projects and gets SO excited when he notices some change!
