Thoughts, memories, and looking ahead!

Well, it's Saturday morning and I'm waiting for my hair to dry before I attempt to prim and prep for my cousin's wedding today. Looking outside, I'm sending wishes off to the sky, who looks a little gloomy right now...it is an outside wedding afterall!

Just a quick update...
Life in the fast lane is exactly how it sounds...FAST! I cannot believe that we are sitting at the end of May right now! Where or where did the time go?! A little scary, because I THINK that means I'm getting older! We have been busy planning the wedding and working and all the other stuff that comes with buying a new home!

So, the new owners of 503 Geissinger Loop took possession of my first baby yesterday! It sure was hard to let go of that home...it really was special to me...BUT, the new home is the perfect place for Trevor and I to start our new lives together! I hope 503 brings them as much happiness and memories as it did me! (Can't bring myself to drive by just yet!)
We are still sitting and waiting on our driveway to be poured! The house at the end of the street was done on Thursday (did I mention no one even lives there!? Sheesh!), so ours should be around the corner! Other than that, we are looking at coffee tables and looking forward to furnishing a little bit. It's definitly coming along!

I had a work function until late last night...it was fun. We all got together to do "team building" and there was a company hired to come out and put on a game show to get us all participating...there were some laughs and some embarassing moments! All in good fun! I work with some pretty great people...it makes work so much easier when you get to do it with people you consider friends :)

MY DRESS IS IN!!! How exciting and crazy is that?! I have a feeling that the next couple months are going to fly by...The girls' dresses came in too...in fact two of them are going to pick them up today, can't wait to see them! We are going for a "visit" to meet my dress later this month...I have butterflies just typing about it! My parents' landscaping is ticking along and I CANNOT wait to see the finished product. I am so excited for this wedding, it is going to be so personal and fun! I still can't believe that one day can cause sooooo much planning and work. Thank goodness for the wonderful friends and parents I have in my life...words cannot even begin to thank them.

MONDAY...dreaded MONDAY is my FIRST day of my 30 DAY CHALLENGE at Bikram Yoga. I am petrified. 30 days straight. Apparently it's a huge mental challenge...maybe even over the physical challenge of doing 90 minutes of yoga a day in 115 degrees! I am excited and nervous...I decided to finally do it...and June seemed like the perfect month, a couple months before the wedding and a birthday to celebrate on the last day! What better birthday present can I give myself than completing such a challenge?! I will keep you posted...but expect some miserable remarks! A shout out to Nicole who has been a big encourager and support in this regards...

Anywhos...I should really go try to pick what I'm going to wear today. Still no tears from heaven, so weather is looking promising! Will continue to keep my fingers crossed for Jeannine and Geoffrey. Congratulations to them both! I wonder what she's doing right now!?....

Enjoy your weekends!
Miss you Trevor!
xoxo

My Beautiful deck....will be missed!

Where many great meals and laughs were had!

Most importantly...THIS TREE will be missed, man I wish I could take this tree with me! It's even bigger and more beautiful this year!! Hope they enjoy it!

Dog Park Fun...

Our Friday night was full of adventure...well, kindof! It was full of sunlight, open fields, and slober! Close enough for me! We ventured out to our "new" dog park down in Terwilliger! We are used to going to the one by the zoo, so this was very exciting! It was the perfect night to go out.

I have a theory about the dog park...it is my happy place! I believe that it is a temporary state of euphoria - where people when entering the parking lot change into happier, friendlier, more considerate people! It's just my theory, but it's comparable to Disney Land for me! (And Kia too!). Here's some shots of our excitement!

On our way out we saw a friend of mine on her way to the park, so we made a U-turn to let the pooches say hello! I wish I had a picture of Teegan...she was a tiny plack (maybe pug cross) pup who was full of energy and social as can be! Kia was pretty excited that she got two dog park trips in one night! Should have taken a picture of her this morning...she was not her usual playful self, more like a pile of tired fluff!

Ball, Ball, Ball!!!

So happy!
Running, Running, Running!
Beautiful time of year!
Kia coming out from the many secret paths she found!
Creepy animal tree! Giraff!?
The ride home was equally as fun!!!

Sunday Morning Play Time

Often when I wake up in the morning and stumble out of bed, I find myself surrounded by a variety of "dollies" to choose from that Ms. Kia must have presented me with throughout the night. How can one resist play time when the little pup has tried every toy in her box?!

This is how I found her the next morning...protecting the one last toy...the golden ticket to playtime!

After I gave in, it was a go!

What do you mean we're done?! I still got lots a play left in me!

How-To Comment!

Okay, so I've been asked by a couple people now..."how do I comment?!". It's quite simple...

  • Go to the end of the post you want to comment on
  • Click on the " (#) comments" line under the post to the right
  • This line is a different color than the text (blue/green)
  • A comment box will come up
  • Type your comment
  • Click "anonymous" in the drop down menu
  • Click on POST!
  • Done and Done
Better luck!

Pussy Willow Hunting

So, I will play catch-up here from Easter, which today feels like it was FOREVER ago! Trevor and I went out to Watrous, Saskatchewan to visit his parents. I must say, aside from the food (his mom is a great cook!) and our Scrabble matches (what can I say, I'm a Scrabble junkie!) - the best part of my trip was our awesome adventure out to the fields where we went on our search for pussywillows!! I must say I LOVE pussywillows, so I took my camera as Trevor and I put on whatever rubber boots we could find, called the dogs, and away we went!
I'm not completely sure, but I THINK Kia thought she was in heaven!

We had A LOT of fun, found some cool old cars that I just had to take pictures of!!!

Thankfully along the way, we definitely found our pussy willows! Winnie and Kia both helped in this process...well, helped in the sense that they kept me occupied while Trevor hunted down and wrangled with the bushes!

I think it is safe to say, we all went home happy!

And here the pussy willows are today!!!...

Well, that's all for this morning! I should probably get some stuff down around the house! xoxo

Adventurous Goose Chase

One of my favorite pictures to date!!! How cute are my Trevor and my Kia?! Pretty darn cute!

So, again some walk pictures from earlier this week...I wish I had time to do this every night!!!

Trevor sent me on a wild goose chase! Literally!!! All we heard were geese and it sounded like there was a very large amount of them (turned out to be only two pairs! Loud buggers!), so he got adventurous and sent ME into the woods to take photos...he used the dog as his reasoning for staying behind! I saw many things, prickly things...in fact I felt them more than I saw them...I heard "just keep going...a little bit further". By the time I got there, it was too dark to take any pictures of the stupid birds anyways!!! I was not impressed. Maybe next time I'll have some geese photos for you!! Until then, enjoy playing "where's waldo" with the bottom picture!!!

Wedding Photographer!

Well, since all the changes, things have been quite crazy! I think that everything is starting to come together though! We have tentatively booked a photographer (who appears to be fabulous!) for the date. Her website is www.racheljphotography.com. I really love her work. The only down point is that she wants to redo our engagement session because she really uses that time to get to know us as a couple and wants us to get to know her as a photographer so there isn't any awkwardness the day of...which TOTALLY makes sense, I just so don't want to be infront of the camera again! I would so prefer being behind it!!!
Let me know what you think of her! Enjoy the long weekend, and I'm sure I will be fiddling around with this too so expect more updates (there is some wedding shopping happening tomorrow...hair and jewelry stuff - FUN!). xoxo

Walking, Walking, Walking

We are continuously exploring our new surroundings here at the house, and Kia is loving every minute of it! Our outings make for some good photos for an extreme amateur photographer like myself! I love our clock tower...

I am also loving some of the sunset pictures I've taken. Each night is different. I am looking forward to the green of the leaves and the finishing of the park, but for now - I'll take what I can get!

We also think that Kia is enjoying her adventures more than maybe we would like! The dirtier she gets, the more fun she has!!!

Well this is all for now...will update with more news and pictures soon. xoxo

First Post

HELLO!!

This is my first post on my new blog! I have no idea how to use a blog, but I am very excited to start to learn! I am in a very exciting time in my life right now, and thought it would be far easier to share it all with everyone this way!

A quick update:

  • Trevor and I were engaged in October of last year and are very excitingly planning our wedding for September 12, 2009. There has been a date change for a variety of reasons, and I can truly say that everything happens for a reason as the new plans are fantastic!

  • We have just recently moved into our new house and are working on making it our home! We are in love with it and every day it feels more and more like OUR home!

  • We are still holding on to the old home! The new couple takes possession at the end of May. The home will be missed, but I hope it brings them as many joys and memories as it did for me!

  • I am loving photography and will use this to share our photos of our new adventures together!
Well, that's all for now! I will post some pictures soon. xoxo
