I am by no means a sewer. In fact, every time I work on a project it takes me 5x the amount of time I'm sure it takes others! But you know what? I'm learning! And in the end, these two don't care about perfection! Late last year I made Jackson the 'art caddy' that you see on the left. It has been used every. single. day. I had full intentions, fabric, and partial cutting done for Sawyer's for months - but the first one took me SO LONG it feared me to start another! One day a few weeks ago, enough was enough! He had been patient for months. So, I buckled down and made his. I cannot tell you how much these boys use these art caddies and how happy they make me that their supplies are stowed away and NOT all over my table all the time! If only they didn't take me so long to make, I would totally make them as gifts! For now, one a year is enough. I purchased the pattern here!

Hoppy Easter! - April 4
Easter was a lot of fun this year! I love it when Trevor happens to be home for holidays. It's just not the same without him! This year was one of those years! I'm pretty sure Izzy thinks holidays are nut shows - and she may be right! Sawyer and Jackson LOVED the egg hunt...as did I. I think it's my favorite part of Easter, aside from the turkey stuffing! We had such a relaxed and lazy Easter day this year, which was nice. We were able to just sit back and take the day in stride, enjoy the treats, play with the new fun things the bunny had left! I think Jackson's favorite was definitely his new Mr. Doodle book, he had spent all morning in that workbook!

Sawyer Turns THREE!!! April 2
I can't even believe Sawyer is now a 3 year old! Where does the time go? So very quickly these boys are growing up and sometimes I feel like just setting up a camera so I don't miss anything when I blink! Mr. Bear loves Baymax. So, with the help of dear Nicole, I was able to get my hands on the bouquet of balloons, make them into Baymax heads and stash them in his room along with his shirt I made him so he could wake up to a birthday surprise! He was tickled. After picking up Daddy from the airport, we met Nana and Papa at the Keg and had an awesome meal and some presents. Very minimal as the boys are sharing a big birthday bash again this year at the end of May! Just enough to let him know how very special he, and the day he came into this world, are!
*Spoiler Alert if you haven't seen the movie*
Big Hero 6 was playing on the airplane on the way home. Although Sawyer has seen it countless times, when it comes to the end and it's time for Hiro and Baymax to part ways and Baymax 'dies' - Sawyer was a blubbering mess. Tears, red, quietly crying and mourning his dear friend. Heartbreaking.
Sawyer is such a sweet and special little boy. He is starting to become quite sensitive and thoughtful like his older brother, which is new for him - and greatly embraced as his kisses and kind words are so meltworthy. He is sweet and kind. His feelings are hurt easily. He can be impatient and easily frustrated or disappointed (like someone else I know - this girl) but it comes from a place of wanting things to go right. To be successful. His sense of humor has really started to shine lately and it's so funny to see him blossom. He likes to tease, to laugh, to be playful and engaging. This is new for him as he spent the better part of his first year and a half being a wallflower. Quiet. Laid back. Now he has an opinion. He has his own way. He adores and idolizes his big brother. He is thrilled to be a big brother in training himself and I think it will be really fun to see him transition into this new role. He always has to have a toy in his hand. No toy specifically, he goes through stages of being attached to different small toys, but they come everywhere with him. Comfort. It's funny to look back at pictures and see that this started long ago and yet we are only really starting to catch on to it! He is amazing and makes us smile every day. He is handsome and sweet. We are all better because of him and he is a great fit for our family.
Happy Birthday Sawyer!
We love you to the moon, around the universe, across Canada and back to your heart!

Sidekicks - March 30
Sometimes I take my kids to work with me. It's true. Not often. But the odd time with the right client, there's just no other way around it and the boys are pretty welcomed. This particular time we were scoping out a new location and taking some quick shots of friends who were moving away to Ottawa and wanted to remember the city. I had to snap a few of my sidekicks at the end. They were great. Jackson even tried to help the dad find his keys that he lost by walking the path we went searching with his 'amazing eyes'!
St. Patty's Day Fun
St. Patty's Day was a lot of fun this year. It's always fun to find an excuse to change things up and make new memories/traditions. Last minute this year we decided to create a leprechaun trap. The boys got SO into it. It was a lot of fun and kept us up past our bed times, but I'm pretty impressed with Jackson's stairs! After boys passed out the little leprechaun played some tricks and took our money and replaced it with skittles.
The leprechaun streamered the boys in their rooms and left them a cool sticker and lollipop taped to the inside of their doors. That was quite the sight to wake up to!
They also left a little present in the toilet. The joke ended up being on me as the footprints were a struggle to get off contrary to what google believes!
We made Luck Charm squares...
Enjoyed green smoothies for breakfast...
And sported the new shirts momma made them...
